This Is Where You Find Baseball
Добавлен 13 май 2008
If you're looking for old and not-so-old baseball games and content, you've found your new home. With more than 2,400 games uploaded here to choose from, look around, pull up a chair and take in a ballgame! We aren't all about "big moments," either; we believe there's something special about some random regular season game, just a part of the rhythm and flow of the long season. We're a private collector who loves the grand old game, and taped a bunch of broadcasts for our own use, and snagged others from similarly-minded collectors. And thank you all upon us reaching the landmark of 20,000 subscribers!

Angels vs Astros (9-22-2019, Astros clinch 3rd straight AL West)
Now, yes, we are unafraid to spoil the ending of this one, as the Houston Astros do a thing for the third consecutive season, this time at the expense of the Los Angeles Angels in this AT&T Sportsnet telecast. But here's something interesting: the Moneyline for this one was Astros -521, the widest spread in a game going back to at least 2005, according to this: sports.betmgm.com/en/blog/mlb/largest-mlb-moneyline-favorites-since-2005-bm15/.

T Mac low-key posted this throwback to show off his weight loss
Vizquel-Alomar the best
This Mets team would go further but it wasn't as good as the 1999 team. Losing John Olerud hurt & Rickey was a .300 hitter in 1999 versus 2000.
Moved back from California to take a job in Milwaukee in October.82 .... always a Brewers fan....and this state was on fire ...bars were full in the middle of the day during the playoffs...many didn't go to work on game day... backyard parties...block parties.....it was the most incredible feeling and time.....my most cherished Brewers memories.... what a great experience... 🍺
Sorry.. September... when the series between the Orioles a Brewers was going on...
CharlieFinley was JustLike AlDavis..except when it came to taking care of plsyers.. Throw in the Warriors & U have 5 straight Championships! NiceRun. Unmatched
The first stretch of a long 27 hours for Vin Scully. After this 10-inning game in St. Louis, he rejoined the Los Angeles Dodgers in Houston, where the Astros won the Saturday night game in 22 innings and the Sunday afternoon game in 13 innings. So Vin broadcast 45 innings in two cities in about 27 hours, June 3-4. 1989.
This team had three of the best second tier stars of all time in Ben Ogilvie Cecil Cooper and Gorman Thomas
I don't think that 8 year old me appreciated the player that Tony Philips was!
This is so damn cool! 2 years before I was born. Thank you!!!
WOW...just hit me after 3 minutes into this video that I was at this game with my Dad- Walt Terrell threw a 2 hit shutout complete game. I remember watching him in warm ups thinking he had some extra pop to his fastball, oddly enough he struck nobody out. He was a great sinkerballer. I also remember a foul ball going 5 feet over our heads in the upper level behind 3rd base- Thanks for the memories!
Wish Milwaukee was back n the AL& Houston back in the NL
I believe Citi Bank gave out polyester jerseys this day. I remember wearing mine and it was scratching the hell out of me the entire day. The day was beautiful.
Jr sounds just like Sr!!
Did not realize that Backman stole 30 bases, even with hitting so badly as a RHB that he thought about giving up switch-hitting.
Back in the day when you couldn't give away Braves tickets..
I remember traveling to upstate New York from Connecticut with my family when I was about 10. My Mom was a big Yankee fan, and when we got to the hotel and found out there was a no hitter, she was mad that she missed seeing it on TV. She’s gone now, but I’m sure she would have appreciated this. Thanks for bringing back a good memory.
I remember watching this with my mother (who was a huge Yankee fan) when I was a kid back in 83. She's gone also but the memories are here. Maybe your mom and mine are swapping Yankees memories 😊
I think this cost the Yankees another World Series. Yes I know it’s a big stretch considering it’s the alds and the Yankees had no home field in any round. But this Cleveland team was beatable and anything can happen against boston. I think Cleveland, NY, or Boston was going to beat Colorado.
I was at that game with a college friend of mine, who was an Angels fan. We were sitting along the first base side and were there for the whole game. We found out on the way home from the game that long-time Cardinals announcer Jack Buck had died earlier that night.
This game was 1 month after Tommy Greene's no hitter. I had just finished my freshman year in college lol. I actually remember this game, and it's a shame DeJesus tore his shoulder up
I really miss Shea Stadium
Look at that Boston traffic in '92!
From 36:27 through 36:41 I like the “Let’s Go Padres” stadium organ chant. I wish I can find sound effects like this
I was at this game
Nice
This was during the Cubs historical not so memorable 0-14 start to the season.
I was there, i was 12 year old, my first game at a ballpark, beautiful Qualcomm Stadium seem unreal for me. As a hard brave fan it broke my heart that they lost.
Orioles have come along way since the rebuild! They just did this to the Yankees last night
24:50 Scully talks about the difference between winning %s in baseball vs other sports. Someone once said "Every team is guaranteed to win 40 games and guaranteed to lose 40 teams; it's the other half of the games that determines your best and worse teams".
Lou Whitaker's play at the 13 minute mark is amazing. I had forgotten why they called him Sweet Lou... he was soo smooth going to his right.
The kid wirh the old man wig was the best!
I would rather watch ABC Monday night BASEBALL
There are several telecasts of such on this channel.
That ball hit a mile 😮love Jon miller
'87 team had the best record in AL at the break...!
One of the last few years before all the annoying advertising took over the stadium.
One of only two shaky starts for Doc that year
Harry Kalas was an amazing announcer
you had three future world series winning managers appear in the game, Scioscia, Martinez and Francona
Henderson vs. Moseby. Huge mismatch at leadoff in this series.
1989 Rickey was unstoppable.
It's a shame that J.R. Richard is not in HOF
Wow! Three of the crappiest of the most crappy umpires working this game.
Tigers were fazing out that year and A's starting to get good ,88 and 89 world series appearance where tigers last harrah losing to twins who went to world series that year and going 20 years before anymore playoff appearances.
Lon helped me appreciate the game of baseball. Listening to another broadcaster is not the same. When I moved to Las Vegas I could listen to to Vin Scully and the Dodgers. Believe me it was not as good as listening to Lon Russ call Giant games.
Ah yes, the Lumber Liquidator era of the Metrodome
Is that bob Murphy from the mets or frank Messer
That would be Frank Messer.
Thanks for posting this video..especially after the very sad news..let's all stop and reflect on his smile and his positive message he used to gave us.historic theatre on a historic loss.what better to cherish some baseball in Birmingham where 93 years ago a child who would become a GIANT among GIANTS was born...yes...WILLIE MAYS, thanks for the everlasting memories !!!
thank you
You're welcome!
Shame this Tiger group only won 1 World Series. Just shows how good the eastern division was back then.
This made my day. Buck was the best. Also, you would never confidently bet on a squeeze play these days.
Laughable that they were doing the "America's Team" as they were Year 1 of six straight years into their plunge of suckdom after firing Joe Torre.
And here's just why Ted Turner called the Braves "America's Team." ruclips.net/video/mt296Zl3-Mo/видео.html
@@ThisIsWhereYouFindBaseball I'm aware of the why; they were on the first Superstation. (And the Cubs were on WGN so they could have made the claim as well.) That story though, like most so-called news, is inaccurate. WTCG didn't become WTBS until 1979.
